ECOBAT’s two Italian smelting operations, Eco-Bat SpA in Paderno Dugnano and Marcianise, are among the most efficient in the group, recycling around 96% of lead acid batteries.

Based in Campania and Lombardy regions, the two sites employ 144 staff and recycle some 100,000 tonnes of waste lead acid batteries.

The Paderno smelter has been in existence since 1938, Marcianise since 1970, and over the years they have undergone a programme of continuous improvement to ensure maximum operating efficiency with minimum environmental impact. The ECOBAT standard is much more stringent than the law requires. The annual lead output of the two sites is some 70,000 tonnes.
